Meet Jaime Silva, Safety Manager at Hilton Chicago

The Story

Two years ago Jaime Silva wasn’t even thinking about a career in hospitality. He was a service member in the US Marines, serving and protecting the U.S. locally and abroad. As part of the Military Police, Jaime was responsible for search and seizure, criminal investigations and ensuring the safety of civilians on national and foreign soil.

A little more than a year ago, he transitioned out of the Marines and found a home with Hilton at Hilton Chicago. Jaime’s leadership, mentorship and military experience, made him a shining star first as Security Officer and now as a Safety Manager. He is a great mentor, motivating his Team Members to go above and beyond and encouraging them to continue their education on a path to promotion and recognition from peers and leaders.

Jaime is acutely focused on giving back whether to Team Members or Guests. When a guest requested help getting to his room due to mobility concerns, Jaime was more than happy to assist. Jaime brought the guest a wheelchair, pushed him to his room and ensured he felt comfortable navigating the hotel. Jaime is also an American First Aid/CPR/AED instructor and has helped over 20 Team Members get certified. Additionally, Jaime works with veteran organizations like Chicago Veterans and the Road Home Program to help veterans find employment with Hilton.

Thank you for serving your country and for living our Vision, Mission and Values, Jaime.
