Meet Josh Kannenberg, Senior Manager of Digital Guest Experience from the Dallas corporate office.

The Story

Starting as a Front Desk Agent at Hilton Promenade eleven years ago, Josh Kannenberg has been recognized (including on Instagram) with five promotions with his most recent promotion as Senior Manager of Digital Guest Experience at Hilton's Dallas corporate office.

When he started his Hilton journey, his goal was to help get him through college. At the time, he wasn't looking at hospitality as a career. However, after graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Math and Business with Engineering school left to complete, he realized his ambitions had changed. Moving the ranks, he's had the opportunity to live in three different states and was invited to help with the opening of Hotel Del Coronado a Curio by Hilton Collection.

There's been one thing that has really stood out for Josh, which is the strong mentors he's had. At each hotel and position he's fulfilled, he's always had a mentor supporting him, challenging him and guiding him. "For that reason, I have always been interested and passionate about helping others grow. Over the past year I had the amazing opportunity to mentor Laura Roads, a MDP (Manager Development Program) intern, at the Hilton Anaheim. It was an amazing opportunity to connect and support her as she rotated between different departments, and experience what our amazing company has to offer," Josh said.

Last year Josh had the opportunity to serve Hilton in the Dallas community. He was nominated by his General Manager, and was able to attend numerous events in the Dallas Fort Worth area, representing Hilton to other young professionals in numerous fields (law, healthcare, politics, education and more). "I had the unique opportunity of sharing how Hilton invests in youth, college students and different generations, by sharing my own career story. They were surprised that someone without a major in hospitality had already fulfilled a role as a Director of Front Office at a 1,600 hotel by the age of 30 (something I'm proud of)," Josh said.
