Hilton Worldwide and Sundance Institute announced today the winning documentaries of the second annual Hilton Worldwide LightStay Sustainability Award program. Selected by the Institute’s Documentary Film Program and Fund with Hilton Worldwide, the feature film Revolutionary Optimists will receive $22,500, as will the in-process category winner, Hungry; Studio H will receive $15,000 for honorable mention; and the short film Jungle Fish will receive $5,000.

Hilton Worldwide promoted its commitment to local volunteerism by hosting the company’s first Global Week of Service Nov. 11-18. The event highlighted the projects of Hilton’s approximately 300,000 employees at more than 3,900 locations, which include rebuilding community centers, mentoring young people, restoring natural habitats, and helping military veterans in need.

Today, on World Food Day, Hilton Worldwide announced multi-year partnerships with Feeding America and The Global FoodBanking Network to secure food and reduce hunger in communities where it operates around the globe. The collaborations will enable Hilton Worldwide hotels to collect safe, surplus food from conferences and daily food and beverage operations that would otherwise be thrown away and make it available to those in need.
