Homewood Suites by Hilton, Hilton Worldwide's international brand of upscale, all-suite, extended-stay hotels, announces today the opening of its newest property in Southington, Connecticut. Creating 30 permanent jobs, the four-story, 110-suite hotel is owned by The Briad Group, and will be managed by Briad Hospitality Management, LLC. General Manager Kim Jackson has been in the hotel industry for 25 years, and will be supported by Director of Sales Jeremy Starr.
Hilton Worldwide Signs Management Agreement With Pekah Hotels Sdn. Bhd. For Fifth Hilton Hotels & Resorts Branded Hotel In Malaysia
Hilton Worldwide today signed an agreement with Pekah Hotels Sdn. Bhd. to manage Hilton Kota Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. The ninth Hilton Worldwide property in Malaysia, the 313-room Hilton Kota Kinabalu will also be the fifth Hilton Hotels & Resorts branded hotel in the country, scheduled to open in 2015.
Hilton Worldwide celebrated the company’s annual volunteer campaign completing more than 2,400 volunteer projects in over 700 cities in 72 countries throughout the month of October. Hilton Worldwide Releases Annual Corporate Responsibility Report Meets Water Reduction Goal Ahead of Schedule
Hilton Worldwide today unveiled its annual Corporate Responsibility Report, noting that it has met another companywide sustainability goal ahead of schedule as well as made progress against the company’s full range of sustainability and responsibility commitments. Through continuous improvement and corrective action among its more than 4,000 hotels, Hilton Worldwide achieved its five-year goal to reduce water consumption by 10 percent and waste output by 20 percent in 2012, one and two years ahead of schedule respectively and continues its progress toward its goal to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions by 20 percent by the end of 2013. Since 2009, efficiency projects have resulted in cumulative savings estimated at more than a quarter-billion dollars.
Hilton Worldwide Team Members have spent this week spreading the light and warmth of hospitality, while helping to improve the communities where they live, work and travel. On day six of Hilton Worldwide’s Global Week of Service, Team Members led more than 165 service projects around the world, ranging from refurbishing residential homes and community centers to helping preserve a national landmark.
